You’re very welcome Bruce. Hope you stayed dry during the weekend rains.
Kitten yoga!! Holly gave me the tip to resize your pixels to 1000 and it works too!
Beautiful! This was one of Tashi Cat’s favourite postures, during our evening practice.
Great tip Sunnie! She’s growing!
Thank you so so much Holly and everyone for this 30 day celebration. Really helps to have the power of the group each day……grateful.

Yesterday’s tune was a Tina Turner Classic, “We Don’t Need Another Hero”. https://youtu.be/Gcm-tOGiva0?si=8-e7mcG5WiLqYPpC
P.S. I’ll formally wrap up the celebration on Monday and share what Day 30’s song is (Hint: look at the picture. There are a lot of hats here for people who don’t have any hats). Tomorrow, I’m taking a full rest day. I spent about 20 hours this week on making the new Q&A page and Q&A index. It was an uber productive week as I also finished gathering and preparing my tax return docs to send to the accountant. See you on Monday!
OMG Holly!! I LOVE the new Q&A!!! It must have taken you hours and hours to do this!! I’ve often wished there was a way to find something that you talked about. And you did it!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Awww, thank you so much Sunnie! Your words mean a lot to me. I put a lot of love into the Q&A. I track my time so I can see where it goes. It took about 25 hours to redo the page and format and structure of the Q&A Index. I also had great help from another student. She has been consistently updating and categorizing questions for every single Q&A Tea Time for years! It would have been impossible to do without her help.
Enjoyed some Qi Gong breathing today. Tina Turner is such a great singer and I think everyone could use another hero.
I’m rolling down the Qi-ver! Or Qi-river!
Nice!
Welcome to Day 29! Wow! We are almost at the end of our 30-day celebration! You are doing amazing! I’m so proud of you for being here.

P.S. I’ll do a formal wrap on on Monday and will also reveal Day 30’s song then. Tomorrow is a day of rest for me.
Extended my practice today. Now also have a plan with different exercises, so I can see what fits in depending on how I feel and do them at different times during the day. Continued daily breathing ex1. + twice ex.3; included some physiotherapy exercises to improve posture and strengthen muscles, then reflexology for cold remedy practice, after watching Holly’s tutorial again, since cold started yesterday. It’s all so helpful. Thank you. Don’t know the tune.
That’s great you’ve got a plan now for the exercises to strengthen your body. Woohoo!
Thank you, Holly, I also join my voice to the community’s “Thank you” for organizing this 30-Day QG Celebration. Happy I did ex.1 daily I also included, and it is now in my plan: Dao Gong movements, sound + humming, Tibetan Bowl
Day 24 feeling a lot of energy. Ready to tackle the day. Tune unknown
You can see about three stellar jays and one blue jay in this photo.
Also, to anyone uploading pics. I went to this site https://imagecompressor.com/ to resize this picture so it could upload here. It takes only a couple seconds.
How lovely and thanks for the tip also!
Ooh, so pretty! Thank you so much for the image compressor tip. That’s awesome and so helpful!
Lovely and thank you, also for the info and link to the imagecompressor, very helpful.
What a lovely place to live!! Thanks Lauren!
Sharing a photo from Ghislaine of the cranes that she mentioned in a previous comment, and AH-MAZINGLY got a picture of them.
BTW, if you ever experience issues uploading a picture in the Soul Group, it might have to do with the file size. I believe the maximum is 250MB, so if you can resize the photo or choose the smallest or lowest quality version, that should do the trick. Thanks!
Awesome, many, many thanks!
Tried a few tricks, even downsized a copy, but none of these worked. Will do my best to follow your instructions and learn.
In fact, this a small group of cranes; there are larger ones, sometimes 2, 3 of them, following each other. This isan October picture, they fly southwest to warmer wintering grounds… This afternoon another group returned.
Cranes are very cool!
Yes and there was a small group again this afternoon: audible, not visible, the clouds were thick and low, while a large and loud flock of sheep, changing grounds, was filling the whole street, wonderful to watch, country life..
Great pic!
Thank you Jane.
It must be so amazing to see them in person!
It really is, and it gives much joy.
@Holly – out of curiosity, what is a typical routine for you each week? Reflexology twice a week and then these qi boosting exercises and some Dao Gong mixed in too depending on your schedule, how you feel, how much time you have, etc.?
Hmm, great question. I always have reflexology on the schedule, but if I’m doing the cold prevention routine, it might only be once a week for the full routine, which is what’s happening this week. My son brings home mega-germs from the gym and school, so it’s a preventative measure, especially when the weather is really crappy out.
This week, my intentions are:
A lot has to do with how I’m feeling and the weather. We’re getting rain and it’s winter, so standard exercise is on the back burner. I do more of that in the summer. Since we’re doing the 30-day celebration, I’m also doing more qigong breathing and flapping arms, so I’m cutting back on meridian massage. Only practiced once this week so far.
If I don’t make my goals, it’s okay too. The point is to consistently aim to practice regularly. It adds up over time. A few weeks ago I met someone for a crochet meetup in her home. After we were done, I sat down on the floor to put on my shoes, and she asked if I practiced yoga. I said I didn’t and asked why she asked. She said it was because I sat down on the ground with such ease.
It’s something I take for granted, but when I was going through the stressful period with my father’s health and other things, I slacked off on everything. Definitely noticed I was more stiff and weaker. But consistently stretching and practicing exercises over time is restoring my flexibility and strength.
I believe people can get more flexible and stronger at any age, and recent studies are proving that. It’s just a matter of getting started and keep doing it as best as you can over time.
Wow thanks for asking this question and thanks for your reply Holly. I am looking forward to going back and watching the Dao Gong videos you’ve done in the past to learn more about that. I’ve never heard of it until I joined Sole Circle. What are the benefits of QiGong vs Dao Gong?
The original info page on the Dao Gong intro workshop explains it really well. https://chinesefootreflexology.com/dao-gong-intro/ You can find the intro workshop in the course library. https://solecircle.chinesefootreflexology.com/membership-home/2023-07-introduction-to-dao-gong/
I wanted to add a little clarification about meridian massage and Dao Gong. I don’t count “1” as practicing the whole set of everything. Instead, I choose ONE exercise to practice during the day. For Dao Gong, it’s usually the commencement breath. Sometimes I’ll do a few other Dao Gong movements. Depends on the day and what I feel like.
For meridian massage, I’ll pick one routine. E.g. Spring meridian massage. I found I did more routines in the summer because it was easier to massage when you’re not wearing a giant sweater with a hoodie and thick slipper socks. In the summer, I would sometimes do the arm meridians while going out for a walk,
Thanks for clarifying. I was thinking that 1 meant the whole set of Dao Gong exercises not just one of the exercises. I agree with you about it’s easier to do these things in the summer than winter. Plus with winter I seem less motivated for exercise in general. I believe you or David had mentioned something about winter being more of a time of rest and I can definitely feel that 🙂
Thanks for the info!
So glad you asked this!
Welcome to Day 28! As we are nearing the end of the 30-day celebration, you may be wondering how to continue practicing the qigong exercises after the 30-days. How often should you practice?
In a nutshell, as often as you’d like. I would suggest daily or at least 2 to 3 times a week. The aim of the 30-day celebration is to help you get in the habit of practicing regularly.
Unlike Western medicine which is primarily prescriptive (e.g. do this/take this for x days until your symptoms go away), TCM is a way of living for balance and harmony, which is the cornerstone for good health.
If you are sick, it will help you heal. If you feel okay, it will lead to getting stronger and more resilient. If you are already strong and resilient, you will be growing your “qi bank” for continued good health and a long life.
Think of it like someone who has gum irritation and they begin to floss regularly and cut out sugary snacks. At the end of the month, they notice their gums no longer bleed. Does that mean they should stop flossing and resume the sugary snacks? If they did, we all know that the gum irritation would return.
Because qi-cultivating activities and qi itself are less visible to the eye, it’s not as easy to see when our qi is unwell. In TCM, the goal is to address imbalances at the energy level before they cause physical symptoms. Regularly practicing qi-cultivating and qi-harmonizing activities like Master Xing’s qigong exercises, Chinese Reflexology, meridian massage, and Dao Gong is a way to continually balance and strengthen your qi.

Yesterday’s tune was “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police. Here’s the video:
https://youtu.be/aENX1Sf3fgQ?si=WTzn9wI1UVSNTsb2
I knew the song yesterday, but don’t know today. I did my breathing today and believe I’ve reached my 21 day goal, but will keep going after this challenge is over. I love seeing the cranes! We bird watch from our living room and are a doing a Bird Identification Homeschool Study starting in the next week or two. We have had beautiful blue jays, stellar jays, and chickadees. If I get a good pic I will post it!
That would be great Lauren!! Where do you live that you have all those birds?
Columbia Falls, Montana right near Glacier National Park!
Wonderful: Bird Identification Homeschool Study!
Here people are also requested to keep track of, roughly count the cranes and report. Sometimes they will land on certain grounds to rest but a bit farther away than where I live. Yes, amazing to see – and hear – them.
Sorry not to have written much but somehow I have been very caught up with one thing or another. However, everything little Qi-ing I am doing is proving to be magic and also helping me have some me-time (Qi time!) which keeps me sane and centred! Definitely feeling my core getting a work out with these breathing exercises and if I happen to miss a day I notice I don’t have as much energy! Sorry as well if I cannot make the workshops, but it’s already evening in UK when those happen and I am often cooking or just sitting down to dinner with the family. Hoping to make this Monday though all going to plan!! PS have recognised a lot of the songs as well! ❤️
Day 23 down the home stretch! I known this tune, Hooray!
You’re doing awesome with your practice, and seems like about 50/50 for the tunes! That’s pretty good considering the eclectic selection of songs! 🙂
Welcome to Day 27! With 4 days remaining, let’s do our best to do the breathing exercise every day!

Surprise, surprise, another trip back to the 80s’ movie soundtrack for Dirty Dancing. Yesterday’s tune was “She’s Like the Wind” by Patrick Swayze. Here’s a link to the video:

Day 22 feeling more energy after the qi gong breathing! The tune unknown?
good evening,
Are the 30 days over yet???
I need to breathe normally again.
Great effort from Holly and all involved people…
Enjoy Valentine’s Day
Love to all Jim xx
We’re still going strong for the next 4 days! And hopefully beyond too!
I do love today’s song! That is so crazy you asked about stronger muscles because I noticed that my core is stronger just a few hours ago.
That’s awesome Lauren! Celebrating the good news! When muscles are stronger, it suggests that the Spleen is getting stronger. In TCM, the Spleen is one of the major contributing organs for energy levels because it helps extract qi from food, which contributes energy to the Kidneys, which are like a “life force battery” for our bodies. This battery is critical for good health, vitality, and day to day energy.
TCM doesn’t look at energy the same way as Western medicine in terms of things like metabolism, or adrenal or thyroid function. Instead, one’s energy levels are a result of the strength of Kidney Jing, aka the “life force battery.” When Jing is stronger, we feel warmer (more qi to warm the body), digestion is better (more qi to “cook” aka digest the food), we have stronger resilience and immunity, and have more energy.
Back from vacation and back to my breathing practice.
Welcome back Deb! Did you have a good vacation?
I missed a few days and kind of lost track of my progress. I know I started a week late so I’m guessing I’m around day 15ish give or take. A couple of times I haven’t thought about the exercise until it’s too close to bedtime. I’m thinking this is something I need to do in the mornings. Can we do the first exercise lying down? Like how we have Dao Gong exercises that we can do standing, sitting or lying down.
Hi Claudette.
You’re doing great. Don’t worry about tracking your progress. “Progress” is getting up in the morning and saying, “I’m going to practice today.” It’s best to practice the exercise as close to how Master Xing demonstrates in order to get the benefit of the exercise.
Dao Gong was very special in that it would meet you wherever you’re at. Hence, people were advised to practice standing, seated or lying down. It’s different for other Asian healing/martial arts practices. I’ve never seen anything else like Dao Gong’s philosophy.
I have done other martial arts (Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Aikido, 3 styles of Karate, Tae Kwan Do), kick-boxing, bikram yoga (and other styles), Pilates, and bicycled across Canada. The hardest workout in my entire life was during Master Xing’s Tai Chi class. Master Xing doesn’t “do easy” because the extra effort is what makes you stronger.
as we are closing in on last few days, I am wondering if its a good idea to continue this first breathing practice for longer than thirty days? I watched the whole video but dont recall if this came up? I have been doing all three exercises for about three weeks now, and I am enjoying it, but just wondering about continuing…….
I was wondering that too. Max on days in a row to practice?
Hi Lauren, good to know you’re wondering the same question as Lloyd. Please see my response to him. I’d also add that as a fellow “super mom,” this is a very beneficial exercise to continue practicing indefinitely. Or until your children have gone away to college! 🙂
The exercise recharges your body’s “life force battery,” which is where our day-to-day energy levels and body’s health and resilience comes from. When we are looking after kids, taking care of the house, and running a business, our qi can be depleted very quickly, and that can lead to burnout, fatigue, and health issues.
It’s so important to manage and safeguard our qi. Think of it like saving “money” for the future and spending wisely. We want to do the same with our qi.
If we do too much, we have little reserves in the life force battery. It’s similar to money if one is living beyond their means and using a credit card to live it up. Eventually, the bill comes due, only in this case, our bodies have to pay the price of “overspending” our qi when we are younger.
Think of it like starting a fitness routine where you try to walk a certain number of steps per day. The 30-day celebration is to help you get in the habit of walking daily. Then you’re much more likely to continue walking regularly for the health benefits.
Yes, no one likes when the bill comes due!! I am in the process of healing right now. I definitely formed a new qi boosting habit so thank you for sharing it with us! I will keep the three breaths in my daily practice moving forward indefinitely!
Good question Lloyd. The goal of the 30-day celebration is to create the habit of practicing regularly. This is a powerful qi boosting exercise that you can use for the rest of your life. If you enjoy practicing, by all means keep going!
Since I first learned this exercise, I try to practice every other day. More when my energy is low, but sometimes I’ll get busy and maybe only do it once or twice in a week. Then when things settle down, I practice more often to help replenish the energy that I used during the busy week.
Thanks so much for your reply Holly , really appreciate it. That would be a such a great goal for me to alternate days….i tend to do one thing and get in a rut……and then furnish that rut. ….I think I will try to stick with these three exercises in a row (after Dao Gong) and then on March 1st try to alternate days with the the first breathing exercise.
That sounds like a good plan. I’m a variety type of person, so I have a “roster” of qi activities that I rotate through. I set the intention to practice x activities x times per week, and then see what I feel like each day. As long as I meet the weekly goal, it’s good for me. Some weeks may feature more one activity than another. It all depends on what I feel I need for the week.
Welcome to Day 26. Heading into the homestretch! Woohoo!
How’s your qigong breathing now? Is it getting easier to breathe? Are you noticing more energy? Are you noticing stronger abs and core muscles?
Changes are subtle, so you may not notice more energy day to day. However, if you look back to the start of the year, have you’ve been less tired lately? Have you been feeling more productive? Are you less sensitive to the cold? Those are all signs of more energy! Yay!

Yesterday’s song was probably more familiar to Americans. In Britain, its counterpart was “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” The popular artists at that time joined together to produce a song to raise money for the famine in Ethiopia. The American song was “We Are the World.”
Here are links to both:
How serendipitous!!! There was an article in our paper 2 or 3 days ago about the backstory of this song from the LA Times. I never knew it was recorded in one night! The following is an excerpt from the article.
Now this iconic ’80s artifact is the subject of “The Greatest Night in Pop,” an entertaining and surprisingly moving doc from filmmaker Bao Nguyen that premiered this month at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, before arriving Monday on Netflix.
I need to watch this!!!
Day 21 love the arm flapping exercise. Love the tune
Welcome to Day 25! Now that you’ve got the hang of the qigong breathing exercise, what about trying one of the other qigong exercises in the recording?
For detoxing and strengthening immunity, try the 2nd exercise (what we sometimes refer to as the “flying” or “arm flapping” exercise. You’ll find it at 34:38 in the video.
If you work at a desk, try the third exercise this week. It’s great to stretch and align your spine after hunching over a computer. It’s good for your central nervous system, brain and spine. You’ll find it at 1:02:23 in the video.

Yesterday’s qi tune was “Call Me” by Blondie. Back in my acupuncture school days, to help me remember herb names, functions and properties, I made up her song lyrics to Blondie’s songs. E.g. “Huang qi” instead of “Call Me.” I would weave in phrases like “clears heat” and “diarrhea gone.”
Here’s a link to the video of the song: https://youtu.be/StKVS0eI85I?si=rdxEqLgZZFsf7Nbx
Happy Lunar New Year everybody. Love this song! Still in daily slow motion practice; whenever possible also 2nd and 3rd. Weather slightly improved, more sun today, the birds singing joyously these days and the cranes are returning.
Oh wow!! Cranes?!! Where do you live that you have cranes?
Germany, about 70 kms from Frankfurt (am Main); we are on one of their flight routes. amazing, majestic, twice a year.
Sounds lovely and joyous. We have herons here. Amazing to see them in flight.
Yes, feel joy, smile, as soon as I hear them, very loud, sometimes invisible hidden in the clouds; amazing V flight formations, or circling and regrouping, hundreds of them… At times we might see some solitary heron as well…
OMG – I would love to see that in person. You can see it on film but NEVER the same!! Thanks for sharing Ghislaine!
I knew day 23, but not 24 & 25. I took a couple days off for lady time, but I did the breathing today. I do the second breath work practice too pretty regularly now. I am going to slowly start working the third one in too. It really feels like I’ve created a new habit I enjoy doing. I’ve always loved breathwork and looking forward to the workshop this week.
Woohoo! That’s awesome you’ve created a new habit that you enjoy! See you at the workshop on Monday. It’s at 1pm Pacific. Usually our classes are at 11am Pacific, but David has a busy schedule lately so 1pm it is.
Day 20 completed with a little more energy. Sounds familiar, but I don’t know the tune.
Blondie!
I keep forgetting to tell you how much I love your crocheting works of art!! I loved the star – so cute! My SIL is also into crocheting. She made me these chickens for Christmas and I took them to school and put them on my desk. My kids get such a kick out them!
Thanks Sunnie! Oooh, these are super adorable! Have a great week.
Yes also love your crochet work! Your lucky cat is brilliant! So cute
Welcome to Day 24! Heading into the homestretch! See if you can practice every day–even just a little bit–for the rest of our final week.

Yesterday’s qi song was “Isn’t She Lovely?” by Stevie Wonder. Isn’t it a lovely song? https://youtu.be/oE56g61mW44?si=3Sf38YZkv8tMDwNw
I know this tune although tuning in late and you have mentioned what it is already!!
Day 19 completion. Grateful for a Beautiful Day. Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
Who are you rooting for? 49ers of the Chiefs?
It didn’t matter I’m a Raiders fan
Happy Lunar New Year to everyone! I’ve found that breathing in the car on the way home kind of rejuvenates me after school. As others mentioned, it is easier sitting but I do prefer to stand. But sitting or standing, it’s great!
Car qi gong! I’ve done the sound healing techniques and Dao Gong in the car, but hadn’t even considered doing this for the qigong breathing exercise. I’m going to try it next time I’m at a long stop light.
Day 18 forgot to post this morning. I know this Tune! Happy Lunar New Year!
Happy Lunar New Year to you too!

Lol, I had a brain fart mis-memory for Day 21. Yesterday’s tune was from the 70s. “Dance With Me” by Orleans. https://youtu.be/wmNY_7_xZb4?si=1R5WeXHN8dpifjcm While looking for a YouTube video, I discovered that Blink 182 released a completely different tune with the same name in 2023. For something a little more contemporary, here’s their video: https://youtu.be/LUEYNuVeA9Y?si=d6uIWN-f8Qw40YPm
Like Lloyd, I find it easier to do the breathing exercise while seated, and more comfortabble to breathe slowly, even the 2nd and 3rd.exercises I seldom do standing. Yesterday my body allowed ex.1 only; today a shorter version of 2 & 3 as well: celebrate… I think I know the tune.
Good to know that the majority of students find seated easier. Thank you.
an unprecedented second post. luckily for me its pawgress not purrfection……the slower I go, the better I grow. the breathing has gotten easier for me day by day…..when I started, i could really feel the heat in my kidneys ( I think) but that has died down some. I started standing but after several days discovered it was much easier to get my breathing in synch when seated. (this would have been a more helpful post in the first week :-). I have also been doing the two other exercises in this video which feel really great. for what its worth, I’m still doing Dao Gong daily. most grateful for both of these practices.
Hi Lloyd, awesome to read your second post! Thank you for the feedback about how breathing while seated is easier. Good to know. You’re the second student to mention this so I’ll be sure to do this in future celebrations of the breathing exercise. I appreciate your suggestion. Ironically, I find it easier to do while standing, but it’s probably because of my martial arts training I have. I will try to be more aware of my inherent biases in the future.
Yes, those two other exercises are awesome too! Good for you for doing those and keeping up your Dao Gong practice.
Most of my breathing that I have done has been laying down……and I think with the standing, it’s easier for me to slip in to reverse breathing, pulling stomach IN on inhale and out on exhale. It’s like getting the beat turned around…….which could be a song ‘turn the beat around’ by Vickie Sue Robinson later covered by Gloria Estefan………but that probably would sent the wrong message as a song of the day.
Okay, now I HAVE TO. look up that song!
And here it is: https://youtu.be/7ABX2e81hwQ?si=hq5nUkWXcNyHBG54
Day 17 I’m on my way to developing a new qi habit. Not sure about that Tune?
I wasn’t that sure of it myself. Long ago memories from when I was a kid. As I was posting the Name That Tune comment, I thought I had accidentally mis-remembered the lyrics for the ABBA song, “Dancing Queen”. That would have been a good song to use.
wow it weekend tomorrow – lunar new year, all happening..
good to see all of the comments and commitments – inspiring really
thank you Holly for your wonderful daily contribution to the spine of the celebration
You’re very welcome. Happy New Year Jim!
Done! I think overall so far I’ve missed four days. It is definitely becoming a habit for sure. I know the song today!
That’s awesome Lauren! Are you feeling more energy as you practice?
Welcome to Day 21! We’re on Week 3! Kudos to you! Good job! Conventional wisdom says that it takes 21 days to develop a new habit, so you are well on your way to creating a good qi habit.

Yesterday’s tune is fun and boppy, and “She Loves You” by The Beatles. Dance to this tune. It’s good for your qi. https://youtu.be/nGbWU8S3vzs?si=FalqYsPHux5cB3zP
Day 21 – Ended my today with breathwork. I realized I had some sigh included with the breaths. It felt good to sigh, I don’t know why.. 🙂 My very crude attempt at making a song lyric =D I know this song!
Day 16 finish my breathing practice with a beautiful day today. I know this tune!
Awesome job Bruce! Glad the weather is better where you are now.
Still going strong with my breathing! I do not know the songs from past two days! I prefer breathing sitting down with a straight back.
Good for you Lauren!
Welcome to Day 20! You can practice the qigong breathing either seated or standing. What’s your preference?

Yesterday’s tune was an obscure one hit wonder from the 80s: “Only You” by The Flying gPickets. https://youtu.be/qgDKtLPp46s?si=M5KtX7EdRxDxvUAk
So far doing the daily QiGong breathing in very slow motion before lunch and have recently added a shorter version, also in slow motion, of the 2nd & 3rd breathing exercises.
Gentle exercises are good, also to start strengthening my back, to help with osteoporosis and support the lymphatic system. I also gently massage a few reflexology points, as recommended by Holly… Have to take medication to release pain in lumbar area. As explained in the bonus lesson of Module 4 Sole Fundamentals, the very wet, grey, often foggy weather, strong wind, that have been going on for days now also hinder the healing process… and I learn to go slowly and be patient
I know today’s tune and song, I normally know the missing words, not always the tune…
You’re being so gentle on yourself Ghislaine. Celebrating this! Sometimes being kind to ourselves is the hardest thing to do. You have my sincere admiration and respect.
Day 20 – When I’m in bed, I usually now automatically think of doing breathwork =D The bed is my trigger! It works for me to have a trigger to remember to do it 🙂
Day 15 breathing in the fresh cold air after a massive rain storm. No clue to the tune?
Welcome to Day 19! Almost 2/3 of the way! Hurray!

Yesterday’s tune was “She Bop” by Cyndi Lauper. Another trip back to 1983. That was my peak radio listening year, hence so many songs from that era. Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/KFq4E9XTueY?si=5Bt3GpL0ujPvcqjl
Today’s tune is probably the most obscure of the 30 days. Do you know what it is?
Day 19 – Done with my deep breathing today!
Day 14 exercises done. Maybe the rain lets up today! The tune for today sounds familiar, but I can’t recall the tune
I do know this song, however, I do not miss it. I didn’t know yesterdays song!
Welcome to Day 18! Have a happy Monday and an amazing week!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday, I hope you were standing by your qi and inspired by “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King. https://youtu.be/hwZNL7QVJjE?si=g3sebKxIbvqVQ53A
Today’s tune is to get you bopping for the start of the week! (And back to the 80s!)
Day 18 – Did my breathing with background music. It sets the mood! I don’t know this song..
Day 13 staying indoors all day and not depleting my energy. I know this tune!
Good choice on a crazy rainy day. It was insanely windy here yesterday.
I did my breathing earlier today. We had a nice lazy weekend!
Celebrating lazy weekends! They’re great for recharging your qi.
Hope that you and yours are safe!! Weather reports are really scary!
Crazy windy and wet, but otherwise, not too bad where I live. This morning, the sun is out.
Day 12 completed getting ready for the rain.
Welcome to Day 17! Now that we’re over halfway, I wanted to remind you that recharging your Kidney Jing is a combination of doing qi-cultivating activities such as the breathing exercise AND NOT DEPLETING your energy.
So yes, the goal is to practice 21 out of the 30 days. This goal is enough to get the benefit from consistently practicing, but with breather (bad pun intended) room included so that you can cut yourself some slack and not push yourself if you really don’t feel like practicing or are having a busy day. Doing less is rejuvenating too!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s hit was “Do You Love Me?” by The Contours. Originally released in 1962, it reached new fans (including me) through the Dirty Dancing movie. Here’s a video of the song: https://youtu.be/l3zJZ2d4cis?si=mlTCHTYxEF6k1FAi
One my of very favs! Love the dancing, especially Cynthia Rhodes. She was an amazing dancer! She was in a couple of movies – Flashdance and Staying Alive.
Me too! I can watch that movie over and over. Love it!
Day 17 – I like the idea of taking a breather from breathwork! My breather is doing the breathwork in a relaxing manner. It does help me fall asleep. I like this song!
Day 15 for me but I think I’ve missed 2, 1 for sure. I do love how it energizes me! Not as much Katya however!!
My golden girl and silver girl!!
Ooh, she is so fluffy! Her coat looks thicker than in the previous picture.
Hello there, Katya ❤️
Welcome to Day 16! Over halfway now. You are doing awesome. Have a happy weekend!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s tune was “(They Long to Be) Close to You” by The Carpenters. Here’s a link to listen along: https://youtu.be/iFx-5PGLgb4?si=4XORrX6xBTXV9lLX
Day 16 – Done! But I don’t know the song. I’ll check the answer tom 🙂 I know it’s already in the next post but will still wait for tomorrow until I am done with tom’s breathing!
I actually do not know the song today! I love the cardinal though.
weekend here – still huffing & puffing and blowing the house down
well done troops – keep up to the challenge Best wishes Jim
Quite the visual!
Been keeping up with my daily breathing. I always liked this song by the Carpenters.
You are on a song streak!
Day 11 completed feeling more energy. No clue to the tune
Welcome to Day 15! Keep up the good qi! I love reading about everyone’s shares as you practice. In the next few days, or perhaps today, try this:
Don’t count breaths, don’t pay attention to the time. Just practice for what feels right for your body in the moment. It might be longer than usual, it might be shorter than usual, or it might be the choice not to practice. All are perfect.
NAME THAT TUNE:
After yesterday’s rockin’ out tune, “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC, today’s tune is much more peaceful and melodic. Here’s the video for yesterday’s song: https://youtu.be/Lo2qQmj0_h4?si=zy9q6HCJ8Hlk2_by
I didn’t post yesterday, but I did do the breathing…. Getting an earlier start today…. Also, thank you Holly for q & a Teatime Answer… very much appreciated!
P.S. A few days ago I realized I meant to do the breathing several times and kept forgetting when I was getting ready for bed. Being an over achiever I said… ok, I don’t want to miss another day I’ll do it now even though it’s late… so after laying there till 3 am wide awake I realized it’s better to take advice….. don’t do it close to bedtime!!!
Very powerful lesson and insight. This is worth more than 30 days of qigong!
Day 15 – More energy for today because of energetic breathing! I know this song! My mother happily hums this while doing house chores 🙂
Welcome to Day 14! Remember you can practice the qigong breathing exercise anytime of day, but don’t “shake qi all night long”, or as Master Xing advises, 45-minutes before bedtime. If you do have trouble sleeping at night, I’d recommend practicing in the morning or afternoon.
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s song was “Don’t You Want Me?” by The Human League. Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/uPudE8nDog0?si=vuT5e7GhGRp97o5Q. OMG, the eyeliner! And they’re editing video by physically splicing the filmstrip together.
Breathing now! Know the song too.
Day 14 – I’ve been enjoying visualizing my internal organs being massaged while doing the breathing 🙂
Day 10 Thank you for the reminder. Relaxing the shoulders, breathing, and hearing the rain.
I think I hear of this tune?
You’re welcome. The rain is mostly gone up here (for a few hours).
Day 4 for me. These songs take me back to the hey day of M-T-qi when they used to play videos all the time 🙂
Ooh, M-T-qi! Good one!
Welcome to Day 13! Did I remind you to relax your shoulders when you practice? It’s worth a second reminder :).
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s tune was “I Can See Clearly Now” by Johnny Nash. Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/b0cAWgTPiwM?si=nzi0GMjxllUNPatc
You may be more familiar with the 1993 version by Jimmy Cliff, which was featured in the Cool Runnings soundtrack. Remember the Jamaican bobsled team?
Cool Runnings is one of our family’s favorite movies. We have it on DVD and streaming…. my husband and his running partner used Cool Runnings as their entry name in a race lol!! I know the song for the day and doing my breathing now. I like watching the video once every week or so to make sure I’m doing it correctly.
*I like watching the QiGong video weekly … not Cool Runnings
Lol! Now I HAVE.to rewatch Cool Runnings!
Day 13 – Breathwork done for the day! I feel refreshed. I like the “Dance like no one’s watching quote”
Hope you got a chance to dance like no one was watching.
Day 9 breath work is done. I know this tune, but the rain is coming pineapple express!
Lol! You guys get weather like ours. Yesterday, the rain was gone, but it’s coming back today!
Did my breath work today and it feels good that I can see clearly now by Johnny Nash. Love these lyrics!
Love that you’re enjoying Name That Tune. Makes me happy 🙂
Welcome to Day 12! You’re doing great! So wonderful to see students who’ve been practicing since Day 1 and students joining in now, and everything in between. Hurray!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s song was “We Got the Beat” by The Go-Gos. Check out the 80s hair in the video and bop along! https://youtu.be/f55KlPe81Yw?si=g74sRRdO7JsuHOSY
Ahh I fell off for a couple days. I was not feeling well. I’m back on today! Do I start my count over? I know the song for today for sure!
Lauren, you’re doing great. I fell off the wagon in the first week. Keep counting where you left off. One of the reasons we call this a 30-day celebration instead of a “challenge” is because the focus is on celebrating where we are now, to have fun, and feel ease in our practice. That’s why the goal is 21 days in 30 because life happens. The “challenge” is in being gentle with ourselves.
Sorry not posted anything lately! Am enjoying following all the song references and comments though. Also must say it was so good watching the whole video of Master Xing again and reminded me of those few years back when he first taught us all these moves; he is so adorable! I have kept up the other exercises he showed us due to our challenge with him in the past and so it is good now to add his breathing technique to my repertoire as for some reason didn’t keep this up. I have been trying to keep doing David’s style of breathing though and it helps being in a choir too! As Shell says it all also keep us focused and with language learning etc. I have also been learning or relearning languages! Another thing I have noticed is that I feel like my body is detoxifying with this breath work and definitely pumping out all the toxins of a respiratory infection I had. Today’s song just reminded me that in your recent newsletter you said Casper has an upside down heart nose marking and that we could Qi it more clearly in the second photo! So lovely your two cats! I Love to you all ❤️❤️
Hi Jane! Great to read your post this morning. It’s music to my ears to hear you’re enjoying the song references. I’m happy to hear that the breathing is helping you detoxify. Hope you’re feeling better.
Coo, which languages are you learning/relearning. I started working on Cantonese, but got distracted with Rubik’s cube again, and now I’m in a crochet phase.
Love that you love the kitties, and love that you could qi the pun it the nose photo.
Day 12 – It turns out my husband knows more of the songs than I do! He was good naturedly laughing about our qi-puns By now, I’ve stopped using my 2 min timer. I end up not doing the breathing when I think I still need to grab my timer haha. Trying to remove all barriers to doing the breathing.
Tickled that he’s enjoying the songs too :). Interesting observation about the timer.
Day 8 I know this tune. Breath work is done , gets me ready for the beautiful day!
Great way to start the day. Congrats on Day 8!
good evening, I have generally managed my daily breathwork (some days even 2). I have not been logging on for the songs though. Just been through a cyclone watch here – fortunately it went away from here but unfortunately it still caused damage for others. Hot and humid…hope all is going well for you all hugs and best wishes Jim xx
Glad to hear you’re okay, and hope there is support for the others to recover.
Wow, twice in one day! Good for you!
I enjoyed the Go-Go’s and We Got the Beat! Breathing while listening is great for boosting energy.
Happy music = happy qi 🙂
I’m way late to the party/celebration – day 2 for me. I really though this started on the 29th for some reason and not the 19th. Oh well 🙂 Love the 80s song references. It takes me back to those days.
You’re fashionably late :). Welcome to the celebration!
Welcome to Day 11! Here’s a practice reminder: remember to align your spine before you begin and keep your shoulders down and relaxed. Have a fabulous week!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s song was “Hold Me Now” by the Thompson Twins. https://youtu.be/TvzVTRK1nOY?si=0VnDJgjkuhLP3CiO
Today’s song is perfect for a Monday when you’re on the go-go 😉
Day 11 – I feel that doing breathwork trains my brain to have more focus and pay attention to details! I’m learning Mandarin Chinese together with my daughter and somehow my mind seems to absorb more vocabulary and understand more grammar connections. Oh dear, I don’t know this song either.. or maybe I do when I hear it sung! 🙂
Day 7 missed yesterdays session. Have no clue on name that tune.
Lol! They were really popular for about two years in the 80s and then faded into obscurity.
Day 8 for me!! Thanks for the reminder about David’s breathing tip!
You’re welcome! Gr8 to see you’re on Day 8.
Thompson Twins want us to hold on and keep breathing too!
Nice.
Welcome to Day 10! You’re doing amazing!!!! 1/3 of the way through the celebration. Keep celebrating!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s song was “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey, which happened to be my sister’s favorite band. Here’s a link to the song: https://youtu.be/1k8craCGpgs?si=Op6TzFh70ikzrLDM
Today’s tune is a little more obscure, but still mainstream, and there’s a funny little back story. I actually didn’t like this band much, but the boy that I had a crush on when I was 14 did. So of course, I had to listen to them. Lol! To be a teenager again, thankfully not! 🙂
Very slow motion, mindful 2 mins daily practice before lunch; I knew this breathing technique from former yoga class… Current priority: focusing on healing my back: painful lumbar area with nerve inflammation. Have appointment for medical check… I find the missing words but don’t always know the song. Day 6 “Let it be” is one of my favorite, so I sang along.
Ghislaine, I’m glad to hear you are being slow and mindful, and I hope you heal quickly and are feeling better soon. “Let it qi” was a last minute addition to the qi songs list. I’m happy I picked one of your favorite songs and you enjoyed singing along. .
Going back to my teen years?? NO WAY!! I see enough teen angst as a middle school teacher lol
Day 10 – I’ve noticed that doing breathwork is helping me with my ability to focus 🙂 It might be nice to go back to my teenage years again.. but only for a few days! haha.
I’m on day 3. mmm tapes. I miss tapes.
Yes, tapes. My first album was on cassette tape!
Day 6 Finished the morning practice. I know this one.
Welcome to Day 9! These daily posts remind ME to practice right after I post. Have a lovely weekend!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s tune needs no naming. Here’s a link to the song: https://youtu.be/A134hShx_gw?si=-AV6D_eCUNy0heDT
Today’s tune is another popular hit from the 80s.
I sang karaoke to this song many times in my 20s lol … Day 9 completed… later than usual. Like 7pm my time, but that’s ok bc I stay up till 11pm anyway!
Lol! You should sing along now too!
Day 9 – I fell asleep doing my breathing, I cant BELIEVE it! (Sounds so fit with the day’s song) Maybe I shouldnt do it at the end of the day? But anyway, I was glad to have slept so soon
Day 5, yes working on the breath. I agree with Deb Aretha is one of the Best
Respect.
Aretha is the best! And Qi Gong breathing is great as well.
Respect
Welcome to Day 8! We’re into the second week. Here’s another tip for getting the most out of your qigong practice. When Master Xing advises you to take a deep breath after practicing the exercise, remember the “three basins” of breathing that David Wei (Wudang martial arts expert and Sole Circle guest instructor) talked about in Introduction to Dao Gong.
Basically, breathe into your belly, then imagine filling your mid-section with air and expand your ribs, then finally breathe into the last basin, which is your upper chest and breathe to expand this basin as well.
Do the reverse as you breathe out. Then, you’ll get an added boost of qi, stretching and expanding of your whole torso, and this helps massage your internal organs too.
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s tune was “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” by Dead or Alive. Lead singer, Pete Burns’ dance moves were the ones I mimicked at the high school dances. Ready for a back to the 80s flashback? Here’s a link to the video: https://youtu.be/PGNiXGX2nLU?si=YG_ATjn1-rLQlnot
Since today’s song was immensely popular, let’s ask a different question other than do you know this tune? Did you have a Walkman? If they were around before your teen years, do you know what a Walkman is? What about a boombox?
Yes! My parents had a Walkman and my cousin had a Walkman. I personally had a portable CD player. Maybe that was a little later lol!!
Also… Day 8 complete!
I wanted a Walkman, but never got one. Saved up fro the dual cassette boombox!
Day 8 – I love the idea of my breath massaging thr internal organs! Oh, I also dont know this song!!
Thank you for the tip on counting the number of breaths. This is more attainable for me. Some days 2 minutes is too intense!
2 minutes IS intense no matter what the day! Lol!
I’ve added the 3 types of Qi Gong breathing into my morning routine and expect it will stick – Dead or Alive.
Wonderful! Great job Deb! You guessed it!
Welcome to Day 7! Celebrating our first week practicing together! WOOHOO!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterdays’ tune was “Let It Be” by the Beatles. The super fans know that their record label was Apple Records. Here’s a link to the song: https://youtu.be/xyQC_PXL1G4?si=2T3T34kVa_dzpVCU
Do you know the qi-rics to today’s song?
Yes I know the song! I did my daily breathing. I can only do 25 breaths on the second additional exercise where you move the arms up and down. I immediately start sweating under my arms and I don’t sweat a lot! Must be moving something for sure! Sorry if that’s TMI lol!
There’s no TMI in the Sole Circle! Lol! Sweaty armpits are good! It means there is detoxing going on, which is one of the benefits of exercise #2. The body barfs, poops, pees, or sweats out toxins.
Day 7 – I did this in the evening before sleeping so I didn’t do it quite as fast since I might not be able to sleep! But just setting intentional breathwork for 2 mins, I can feel more focused and calm. I don’t know this song..
Day 4 completion. I’m a fan of this song, an apple for me
Here’s your apple!
WOW Thank you for the Apple Holly!
Day 1 for me!
Welcome to the celebration Zhenya!
Day 4 for me! I got so busy with Miss Katya before school that I forgot to do my breathing. So did it after school. She is so funny – she looks at me like “What are you doing???”
LOL! My cats are ALWAYS staring at me.
Welcome to Day 6! Here’s another tip while you practice the breathing exercise. Rather than set a timer, I like to count breaths. On days where I don’t feel like practicing, I tell myself, “Just do 40 breaths.” Often, I find that I will continue doing more.
If 40 is too much for you, choose a smaller number like 20 breaths. If you do 20, that still counts as practicing your daily qigong!
NAME THAT TUNE
Today, we’re visiting a different decade! Woohoo! If you know the tune…wait, almost everyone will know this song! Let me know if you were a big fan of this band. If so, then you get an apple!
Yesterday’s song was “We Will Rock You” by Queen Here’s a link to the video: https://youtu.be/-tJYN-eG1zk?si=D87iHt2d8L7GaTwv
Going strong on Day 6! This is one of my fav singers!
Awesome Lauren! Sing a long, it’s good for your qi flow.
Day 6 – Ah yes, I use a timer and have to get it every time I do the breath! I’ll try to do counting. Yes, I know this song!
Day 3 done. Feeling more energy to start the day. I can’t name that tune, but great memories at Laker games!
Celebrating great memories and more energy to start the day! Day 5’s song is a very common sports arena song!
Just getting started. Looking forward to the benefits of this practice.
Hi Betty! So delighted to see you here celebrating qigong together!
Can’t believe it’s Day 5 already! I watched the entire Master Xing video and am doing and enjoying the QiGong practices.
Awesome Diane! Celebrating that you’re doing more of Master Xing’s qigong practices and enjoying them!
Embraced my Qi Gong breathing this morning. Always loved Queen & Freddy Mercury singing We Will Rock You!
Yes! Celebrating that you’re embracing your qigong breathing! Freddy Mercury’s voice is amazing. He must have had really good breathing techniques to belt out songs like that.
Did the exercise day without watching the video. Never thought breathing would take so much concentration.
Hurray! Celebrating your first day practicing without watching the video!
Welcome to Day 5! Here’s another tip when practicing: remember to relax your shoulders.
NAME THAT TUNE
For Day 4, who could forget about Simple Minds’ hit from The Breakfast Club movie? “Don’t You “Forget About Me. https://youtu.be/CdqoNKCCt7A?si=B-xH5GRcPfjr2aW4
When I was 14, I thought I was so cool dancing along with the same arm moves as lead singer, Jim Kerr in the video. 😀
If you know today’s tune, share your favorite memory from that time in the comments below!
LOVE this song!! Did breathing and arms with lots of kitten help!
Pawsome! I see you uploaded her photo. Yay!
Welcome pawsome Saskya. Enjoy a very happy life together!
Thank you Ghislaine! Do you have another kitty yet?
No Sunnie, Focusing on healing my back: have appointment for painful lumbar area to be medically checked.
I know this song. Late start on my Qi Gong today… but doing it now!
Yay! Keep it up, you’re doing great!
Day 5 – Oh yes, thanks for the reminder to relax the shoulders!
Day 2 completed the breathing and opening up the chest exercise. A great chest opener!
It is! I use it all the time after sitting at the computer.
Good idea, doing a chest opener too with the breathing
Just finished the Master Xing video and have done my breathing today.
Great job Deb!
Forgot to do breathing yesterday – having a new kitten is a LOT of work (but so much fun!!) I forgot just how much energy they have! Too bad you can’t bottle it. Lol! I also incorporated the “flying arms” from Master Xing, another great qi builder – it’s “qi-licious”
Ooh, the new kitten is so cute! They are a lot of work!!!
Thanks for sending me her picture. There’s a file size limit for uploading images ( I think it’s 200MB), which is why you weren’t able to upload the pictures. If you can select the smallest size, or resize the image to under 1000 pixels wide, then you should be able to upload pics with no problem.
Here she is, the newest addition to Sunnie’s family: Katya.
Great job for doing the flying arms too!
Thanks for the tip Holly! It worked!
Day 1 watching Master Xing video. Practicing the breathing exercise.
Awesome to see you here Bruce!
Welcome to Day 4! Congrats on beginning your qigong practice and keeping it up. Keep going. You’re doing awesome!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday was “Hello” by Lionel Richie. If you know the song, take a moment and listen. It’s a very qi-laxing song. https://youtu.be/AiC7ZX5K9L4?si=29z2XofOTQyR94I0
Know this one! From one of my fav movies!
How many times have you seen The Breakfast Club? 😉 It’s up there with Dirty Dancing and Karate Kid 1 for my most watched movies.
And I also love it in Pitch Perfect!!
I haven’t seen that movie. Just looked it up and it totally looks like something I’d enjoy!
I know this one. It was the year I was born. I’ve done the practice each day and yesterday watched the video and learned the other two practices as well. Yayyy
Awesome Lauren! Great job! You were born this year? You’re a youngstar! (typo on purpose) 🙂
Day 4 – I did the breathing early in the morning as soon as I woke up but haven’t left the bed yet! It seems like a good way for me to remember to do it.
Oh, so far this is the only song I don’t know!
Welcome to Day 3! Sorry, I forgot to post in the morning. I was crocheting, then went grocery shopping, and made lunch. And then I remembered!
Keep remembering to practice your daily qigong. One tip that might be helpful is to think of relaxing your stomach as you inhale so that it can “puff up.” Then tighten your abdominal muscles to quickly push out the air in your lungs.
If you can’t do a full two minutes yet, that’s okay. Take breaks and go at the rate that feels good for you!
NAME THAT TUNE
Yesterday’s tune was “Up Where We Belong” by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes, from the film, “An Officer and a Gentleman.” https://youtu.be/bjrOcrisGyI?si=cGKccemAe7h-PZK_
If you know today’s tune, let me know in the comments below!
This is my new favorite! I can see the creepy head sculpture from the music video now 🙂
Lol! The best is when Lionel snatches her hands and proclaims, “Hello, is it me you’re looking for?”
Day 3 – I had to rewatch Master Xing! He makes it look so,easy
Welcome to Day 2! I’m so excited to see so many Sole Circle students joining in the celebration! Let’s do this together!
Don’t forget to qigong-gong today.

If you recognize today’s song, let me know with a comment below. To keep it fun for others, don’t share the song name just yet (even though [spoiler alert] it’s right on the pic). Tomorrow, I’ll post what song this is.
I did day 2 practice yayyy. The words are familiar, but I am not recalling all of the song today!
I have the missing word, just don’t remember the tune…
Watched Master Xing’s video (1st day) and practised; 2nd day before lunch today.
Excellent teaching!!
Master Xing is amazing!
Day 1 – Reviewed Master Xing’s demo and tried the breathing a few seconds
Day 2 – (in the evening) I couldn’t reach 2 mins I feel like I’m too lightheaded! I stopped and continued to catch my breath the rest of 2 mins
I’m singing as I read the posted lyrics!
I remember when he was teaching the class, I had to stop a few times too. It takes time to build up to 2 minutes. Happy to hear you’re singing along!
Accidentally posted before I finished. I have a new kitten – Ekaterina Tatiana (Katya for short!) She was fascinated by the sounds I was making while breathing!! My computer is messed up and for some reason I can’t post pictures. Holly, I will send you a picture of her through email if you don’t mind.
Welcome Ekaterina Tatiana! How wonderful. Sure thing, I can post her pic for you here,, and also in the Celebrate Pets group.
Woo Hoo!! I’m in as of today! Watched part of Master Xing’s video – I forgot how great he is and how simple yet effective the exercises are!
so very grateful to have this opportunity…..with or without 80’s flashbacks……I was part of the Dao Gong challenge this summer, and failed to post. Not even once. And yet, my Dao Gong practice continues every day. I wanted to make sure I achieved at least ONE post! There. Wishing everyone good health and good practice
LOL! There will be lots of 80s flashbacks. Most of the tunes are from when I listened to the radio a lot as a teenager. Thank you for posting Lloyd. So wonderful to see you here.
Good morning happy Soul Circle people – Happy New Year.
Greetings from Proserpine in Queensland, Australia. Up here from Maleny for 6 weeks of work – back to where I was from April to September 2023.
I have joined and go goed for the first day..
Thank you for setting this programme in place Holly
Good night from stll snowy + freezing area in Germany, you are 9 hrs ahead. Greet hot Queensland, I have a very good friend there.
Looking forward to the daily 2 mins ( quality not quantity, thank you, Holly) Qigong celebration with the soul group.
You’re welcome Ghislaine. Welcome to the 30-day celebration! So happy to celebrate with you!
Hi Jim! You’re very welcome. It’s so good to see you here updating us from Australia!
Welcome to Day 1! So excited you’re joining us for the Qigong celebration. This breathing exercise is so powerful.
When I was going through the stressful period with my Dad’s health issues, I noticed I was getting more white hairs. After things settled down, I practiced this qigong exercise regularly to recharge my Kidney Jing. It worked!
One day, I was showering and found a hair that was pure white at the end for a few inches, and then shifted back to pure black at the root. My hair grows about an inch a month, so I could look at where it was white, see where it transitioned and went back to black, and match it to what was going on in my life over the past months. The shift back to black happened when things got calmer and I was able to rest and recharge by doing things like practicing this qigong exercise.
NAME THAT TUNE
If you know what the song is based on the qi-ified lyrics in the picture, reply to my comment below. To keep it fun for others, don’t share the song name just yet, but do let me know if you know. Tomorrow, I’ll post what song this is.
Funny lyrics! Love it! I have a lot of white hairs. I would love to know what additional practices you did to replenish kidney jing. I recently realized I’ve been living in a deep fear base since my daughter was born and am working to shift that.
In terms of healing practices, it was primarily this qigong exercise and reflexology. However, I got better at setting and holding firm boundaries, saying no to other people, and saying yes to myself. Lots of rest, exercise only if my body felt like it (not pushing myself), making good food for myself, lots of rest (worth mentioning twice), taking it easy, downsizing all obligations to minimize stress. I embraced doing nothing, and did a lot of relaxing and peaceful activities such as hiking and jigsaw puzzles.
I’m in! I know the song.
Go-od go-od!
I’m in, I also think I know the song
Thanks for not carelessly whispering what it was 😉
I’m definitely in with a wham bam! I think I am not giving the game away as am late posting!! Happy 2024 all! So excited to be joining in with the qi Gong challenge! X
Hi Jane! So excited to see you here with you wonderful puns!
Hello Everyone! I’m joining in late! I lacked sleep the past few days and need a Kidney Jing boost ⚡ I’ve noticed though that there’s a difference when I stay up late to do something enjoyable (like these past days when I was doing school festivities prepwork) versus staying up late because of worry or something negative. Right now, I do lack sleep, but I’m not too drained.
I have heard of that song, definitely! I just don’t know the title!!
I am excited about this 21 day journey!
